Job Summary
 
The Marketing Automation Lead is responsible for managing the effective use of our marketing automation platform to develop effective strategies for outbound marketing and lead nurturing program. Working within our Performance Marketing team, this individual will orchestrate lead-gen strategies and campaigns that maximize customer retention, goal conversion, and post activation engagement.
 
The position works collaboratively with content experts, UX experts and developers to create and execute the strategic campaigns. The individual is also responsible for monitoring industry best practices to track, analyze and report results and make suggestions to continually improve our approach to drive conversion results. What do the metrics mean, why do they matter and how can we act on them?
 
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

40% of time - Marketing Automation
30% of time - Campaign Strategy
20% of time - KPI analysis
5% of time - Report/Dash Development
5% of time - Travel

  • Develop strategies and tactics for driving customer engagement, subscriptions, and goal conversion
  • Own end-to-end customer email journey for prospects and subscribers
  • Identify target audiences and new segments for database acquisition tactics
  • Drive segmentation strategy based on data, analytics, and campaign performance
  • Ensure best practices are employed to ensure strong deliverability and subscriber engagement
  • Create and manage email campaign calendar that incorporates customer lifecycle management with timely, relevant communications
  • Employ a rigorous “test and learn” methodology via A/B testing to continually optimize performance
  • Develop trigger portfolio based on past performance to achieve retention goals
  • Tailor campaign strategies based on a combination of business unit objectives, cohort analysis, and segmentation performance
  • Forecast, measure and report on results of campaigns, with key focus on revenue, assessing results against predetermined KPIs/goals
  • Drive and manage campaign process: assets, segmentation, and list management for to maximize conversion opportunities
  • Monitor, analyze and report on campaign performance to maximize conversion opportunities by providing actionable insights
  • Create, implement and maintain dashboard of key success metrics
  • Ability to balance workload and supporting at least five business teams

PROBLEM SOLVING:

This position is a combination of a strategist and deployment expert within Marketing Automation. This individual will be able to compose MA plans for all five business units by aggregating information from multiple data sources that is then used to develop custom strategies that target the preferred audience. Finally, this individual will use aggregated information to optimize email campaigns and trigger portfolios to drive stronger conversions and boost database retention.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or similar
  • 4-5+ years’ experience using Marketing Automation platform(s)
  • Experience in Salesforce Marleting Cloud / ExactTarget is preferred.
  • Hands-on development and execution of marketing campaigns including campaign flow builds, email, landing page and form creation, testing, media placement, tracking, etc.
  • Drive and manage campaign process: assets, segmentation, and list management for to maximize conversion opportunities
  • Hands-on work with email marketing campaigns, data analysis, and reporting as well as SQL; HTML, JavaScript, and/or CSS a plus
  • Familiarity with account-based marketing methodologies
  • Proven capability to serve as a collaborative team player across multiple functions and distributed work groups
  • Hands-on work with data analysis and reporting that delivers actionable insights
  • Detail-oriented team member that is able to review his/her own work as well as understand the “bigger picture.”
  • Knowledge of SQL, HTML, JavaScript, CSS a plus
  • Past experience in analytics, digital marketing technologies, or ecommerce is a strong plus.
