The Account Manager is responsible for all day-to-day account operations, as well as communication to client and from client to team members.
Responsibilities:
Account Management:
- Manages all aspects of accounts and projects from concept to execution
- Keeps the best interests of the agency as number one priority
- Understands the contract/retainer to help keep the account profitable
- Provides direction to all team members
- Provides clear direction to freelancers to mitigate additional costs
- Leads client meetings with internal team
- Develops and maintains basic account support functions (status reports, project timelines, internal meetings, etc.)
- Thoroughly understands the creative and production process
- Synchronizes activities with agency and freelancers
- Sends team and freelancers timeline updates
- Informs team and freelancers of project due dates
- Anticipates project flow issues with other AEs
- Alerts team if deadlines are in jeopardy
- Enforces that project deadlines are met
- Manages the routing process of projects as necessary
- Writes Project Requirements Documents at the start of each development project
- Uploads client projects for review to server
- Assists with proofreading/fact checking copy and layouts
- Provides quality control of all work that leaves the agency
Client Relationships:
- Acts as liaison between agency and clients
- Maintains close relationships with clients through routine client contact
Resource Management
- Identifies and secures potential resources for projects
- Periodically searches for new talent to insert into resource pool

Manages internal and external resource capacity
- Task assignments spreadsheet (or eventual system) based on Job Estimates
Financial Management:
- Writes work orders/addition requests
- Follows up on approval of work orders/addition requests
- Becomes fully knowledgeable with each client contract
- Alerts to invoice clients when contract determines
- Triggers renewals for contracts
- Estimates jobs based on time from team members
- Manages costs on all projects (projects cannot exceed 25%)
- Tracks vendor invoice against estimates and processes for payment
- Reviews estimated hours versus actual hours on a monthly basis to determine project profitability
